Our annual Westie Walk is scheduled for October 12, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. This event provides an opportunity for all Westie lovers, and those who support rescue organizations to meet, reconnect with friends, and raise money to support the WRNT’s rescue efforts. The event will again be held at Mary Heads Carter Park in Carrollton, Texas.

Camp Bow Wow – Dallas High Five, in conjunction with MyPets Mobile Veterinary Clinic, offers a Low-Cost Vaccination Clinic on the 2nd Saturday of each month from 9am – noon. MyPets MVP offers Bordetella, Distemper, and Parvo for just $15. Rabies 1-year is $10.95; 3-year is $12.55. For vaccinations only, the Exam Fee is just $10. Call to reserve your spot today!

Join us on Saturday, October 12 for our annual Garage Sale and Bake Sale at the Irving Animal Care Campus! We’ll have plenty of great deals and delectable goodies for you to purchase with all proceeds benefiting DFW Humane Society.
If you would like to donate items for the sale, we’ll accept small items from Tuesday, October 8 through Friday, October 11 and large items on October 12 between 8am and 9am. You can also donate baked goods on Saturday morning as well!

 Paws In The Park will be held Oct 12th at River Legacy Park in Arlington. Lots of fun for everyone. Dog walk, 5K Run, Costume contest, lots of games for children. Lots of vendors, good food, low cost vaccines and microchipping. Pet adoptions and much more. Event is Friends Of Arlington annual fundraiser benefiting the homeless pets of Arlington.
Fun day of activities for the whole family – pooches included. Door prizes, vendors, dog and kid activities. All proceeds benefit the pets at Arlington Animal Services.

Going to the Dogs is a dog therapy program designed for participants five years and older with an adult caregiver. Activity centers will include Certified Therapy Dogs, manipulatives, stories, crafts, and computers. Irving Public Library’s Reach Out programs are designed for individuals with special needs and their peers. An adult caregiver must attend. Space is limited and registration is required. Dress your dog (or cat, turtle, or even guinea pig) up in their best finery and join us on the patio for an afternoon of fun. The pet party features a short parade walk by the canal, snacks for the pets, games and activities for all ages. Prizes will be awarded for best dressed pet, best dressed owner/pet duo, best pet trick, and more. Copies of the Big Read 2013 novel, The Great Gatsby will be given out.

Support a good cause while having fun. Join us for the 19th annual golf tournament, benefiting DFW Lab Rescue. We are a non profit 501 (c) 3 organization which operates solely on private donations. Our average cost per dog is over $600, yet our adoption fee is only $275. We charge the same adoption fee for all our dogs, regardless of their past health. In order to make up for the difference between the actual cost of the dog and our adoption rate we rely on special events/fundraisers like this to help supplement the costs.
