Nose It All! Level 1 (6 week class)

Level 1 introduces the dog to recognize an odor – (we will be starting off with birch) – and we then teach them to TELL us that they’ve found it. This is a FUN class for most every dog. They do what comes naturally, but we refine it in that they are using their nose for a purpose…and getting PAID for it! This class is also a confidence building/focus building class for the dogs.This class is purely for fun, but if you continue on with the levels, there are titles to be earned in this sport just like most others. I also like to start my Barn Hunt people right here in this class, because hunting a rat is nothing more than finding any other odor! AND an extra added benefit to starting Barn Hunt like this is that you can practice at home – with the odor used in class – no need for a rat until the dog gets the game!
