Who are Feral Friends and why does Ten Bells Tavern raise money for them?
Well, Feral Friends are a for real non-profit group dedicated to the health and welfare of all those kitties you see roaming the streets of Dallas. From their mission statement:
At Feral Friends our mission is to actively assist the community in reducing feline overpopulation by rescuing abandoned, unwanted and abused cats. To accomplish this mission, we have two vital programs that work in unison to offer assistance to the cats and kittens of our community, Race to Reduce Litters (feral) and Rescue and Re-Home. We also offer tips and assistance to those whom have lost their pets.
We met the folks of FF a few years back when we found our patio suddenly teeming with kitties who desperately wanted to eat our award winning bar food and have a safe place to crash at night. FF has helped up trap, neuter and release 15 cats plus has found homes for a few kittens and one of our bar cats that took ill. They are the ones we call when a kitty gets sick or injured and they do this at NO COST to us. Plus, they will be our go-to if Alamo Manhattan gets our land and bulldozes our business…no man (or kitty) gets left behind.
So join us August 14-15th when we’ll have a speciality “cat-tail” menu benefitting this noble group of animal compassionate people. Thank you on behalf of Ten Bells and our bar cats for your support.
