Good Dog Skills: Crate Training

Crate training uses the dog's natural instinct to seek a safe den in which to sleep. Teaching your dog to love his crate will make him a more welcome guest when you’re traveling, will give you a safe place to confine him when it’s not safe to be out and about, will give you more options in case of emergencies, and will make him comfortable when he has to spend the day at the vet or the groomer’s.

When you teach your dog to associate pleasant things with his crate, it will become a stress-relieving, go-to safe place.  In addition, because the dog's instinct is not to soil his own nest, the crate is a great tool for housebreaking.

Join this class to learn how to help your dog love his crate. This class will focus on teaching the dog to find the crate rewarding, teaching the dog to be quiet when in the crate, teaching the dog to wait in the crate until released and in general, giving the dog one more situation where self-control will result in “what the dog wants!”

The price of this class is $30 for a 60-minute class and must be prepaid to guarantee your reservation. If you have purchased a package of four classes, this will count as one class.
